Still a Small Percentage If we go through the many search engines and the countless directories that are now presently published in the Internet, we can observe that the category for Catholic or Catholicism is not that prominent or prevalent. Due to the commercial nature of some directories, many of them don't have a category for Religion, Spirituality, Christianity or Catholicism. Thus the Catholic presence in the Internet is really still a small percentage of the total number of webpages and websites that are now growing the forums and the niches of cyberspace. In Response to the Catholic Mission More than ever, the call to evangelize has become more urgent in these times. Though the world and all that lies therein are all created by God and through the gift of intelligence He gave man, there is still a different spirit taking it away from the world's vocation to be under the Lord's dominion and will. A spirit is leading it to moral degeneration and the unwise stewardship and exploitation of people and wildlife. If the Spirit on the other hand where to lead the moral development of the world's most treasured and life-giving institutions: in the family, in political entities, in churches and educational institutes, in business and economic organizations, and in the Internet we have now, then the culture of life which the Catholic Church promotes shall conquer the culture of death, destruction, violence and strife. It is thus an opportune time for Catholic Internet Mission to continue the Catholic tradition of mission through the Internet and to support all life-giving entities - Catholic webmasters, webauthors, and individual families who wish to promote the culture of life in the Internet by the witness of their lives. Catholicism is a Life-Giving Culture As Catholics, we are privileged to be immersed in a culture of life. Though other Christian faiths may criticize us for being very conservative regarding certain moral issues the world is faced with now, they do not see at times that our conservatism has its basis and its roots in two millenium of solid, bedrock traditions that were given life to and inspired by the breath of the Spirit because of the victory of the Risen Christ over suffering and death. Our task then now is to preserve this life-giving spirit in our Catholic culture as a great legacy to the succeeding generations of Catholics.
